A curious mind,
always building.

Hello! I'm Joseph, an Electrical Engineering graduate from UNSW and a Process Automation Engineer at Next Printing.

I build systems that removes bottlenecks from production; automating workflows with Make, Enfocus Switch, and JavaScript. I am currently responsible for spearheading the company's ERP Integration.

Beyond my professional career, you'll find me tinkering with cars, playing volleyball, or sharing a meal with the family.

    Class II Honours

Honours Thesis: Piezoelectric for Generating Electricity Designed and developed a modular piezoelectric tile system that generates power from footsteps. The system uses an array of piezoelectric sensors arranged in a scalable tile architecture.

How does it work? In Layman's terms, when mechanical stress is applied to piezoelectric materials, kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy. The generated output is then normalized (rectified and regulated) through power electronics, enabling the harvested energy to power low-power devices. This thesis explores the potential of piezoelectric harvesting systems as a sustainable solution for capturing wasted energy in high footfall environments.
  • Feb 2025 – Present Process Automation Engineer @ Next Printing > Led ERP system integration, including data mapping and backend configuration
    > Achieved an estimated 60% reduction in manual file processing through automated workflows, which improved productivity by reducing manual handling
    > Acted as a technical liaison between sales, production, and management. Translating business requirements into actionable solutions.
    > Developed process documentation, including workflow instructions and technical guides, to ensure consistent and safe operations.
  • Oct 2024 – Jan 2025 Engineering Intern @ Next Printing > Analyzed manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks.
    > Designed and prototyped components using Fusion 360 and OnShape.

PROJECTS

Selected Projects

Automated Invoice Billing
01 // WORKFLOW AUTOMATIONS

Automated Invoice Billing

Built a Make workflow that syncs invoice data from our ERP into Xero and automatically creates invoices with consistent formatting.

Prepress Fixups
02 // WORKFLOW AUTOMATIONS

Pre-press Fixups

Created automated fixup chains to standardise client-supplied PDFs (preflight, corrections, output consistency), reducing manual prepress workload.

Streamlined Orders
03 // WORKFLOW AUTOMATIONS

Streamlined Orders

Designed Excel upload templates that map product data directly into ERP order fields, improving accuracy and reducing admin time significantly.
